Your tradition is that you are going with the flow! Maybe this year the boys will like waiting on their mom and that can become a new tradition! You are right that PP is just awesome!
I bet they can really get into helping out their Mom! Play more helpless than you need to and just see how they react . . . new traditions are in the making . . .
